Meighan Swakon

Owner & Manager

Meighan grew up eventing in and around NE Ohio and, although she no longer rides competitively, her happy place will always be alongside a horse. She has taught beginner lessons in both Ohio and Oregon for more years than she would prefer to admit, and credits her trainers at Blue Ridge Farm in NE Ohio for her depth of knowledge and high standards (pun intended). She was lucky to have grown up with consummate professionals as role models and values good horsemanship and trusting relationships (both human and equine) above all else. She also laughs loudly and often, because you can’t be that serious when you’re covered in dirt and manure.

Paige Swakon

Horse Crazy Kid

Paige Swakon was born to an animal loving mother and an exceptionally tolerant father (don’t let Ryan fool you, he shares his pillow with his dogs), and never really had a chance to not love horses. Paige loves cheerleading and being around our four legged friends, and saves her pennies for various equine accoutrement, so don’t be surprised if she offers to help out…for a small fee.

Riley Swakon

Oldest Swakon Kid & Groom

Riley is our one and only unpaid groom. Having fallen in love with horses at a young age, Riley has dedicated herself to bettering her equine knowledge and partnership with horses. She and her horse, Tigh, have a promising future ahead of them. We began our care lease with Tigh in June of 2023. Since then Riley and Tigh have been working along side Riley’s trainer for a hopeful future in the show ring.

 Stella, Chopper, Pilot & Auto

Welcoming Committee

Stella is the most athletic canine in the Blue Frog pack. She is protective and fiercely loyal and, as such, takes her job as guard dog seriously. Once she sniffs you out she will willingly protect you as the guard dog you never asked for. Chopper the West Highland Terrier and Pilot the Questionable Mix are the elder statesman of the farm and can be seen begging for food, yapping randomly, and taking slow walks around the perimeter. They wont protect you but they would love to share your lunch. Auto the Chiweenie is the youngest and newest addition to the family. He’s a nervous sort but always willing to accept treats and loves to play toss with carrots.

Ryan Swakon

Horse Husband/ Realistic Financial Manager

Ryan loves good wine, his dogs, and is still a little confused about why his wife and kids are happiest when knee deep in manure. He’s most often heard saying things like, “happy wife, happy life” and “it’s 5 o’clock somewhere” which, as any good horse spouse knows, is the best way to deal with the unrealistic expectations and expensive ideas of a horse person. He is also incredibly good at fixing things and we appreciate and love him very much.
